Are English skills necessary?
Our original "Epistemological Direct Teaching Method" (EDM) enables you to teach Japanese in only Japanese to anyone anywhere in the world. Graduates from TCJ have made the world their stages, which proves this point.
Is it feasible to acquire teaching techniques through home study only?
Home study of correspondence courses is not for acquisition of practical teaching skills. How do you teach Japanese learners the difference between "I will do the laundry because my children are in sleep" and "I will do the laundry while my children are sleeping"? Only hands-on training at school can provide "practical techniques".
Does teaching practice play a significant role in acquisition of teaching skills?
Teaching practice includes activities at "actual class" where you teach and "faculty room" where you get training in student management and the practice of business. Teaching practice occupies a large portion of the course. TCJ furnishes opportunities to student teachers to interact with our international students, as 300 students from all over the world currently study at TCJ, which is advantageous to job hunting. TCJ also makes internship available to college students.
Please tell me about the education benefit plan.
The "education benefit plan", accredited by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, is that the government covers 80% of tuition at the maximum (up to 300,000 yen) for those who have been eligible for employment insurance for 5 years or longer, regardless of age. TCJ's Japanese Instructor Training Course (420-hour course) is subject to the education benefit plan, and 300,000-yen money-back is guaranteed upon completion of the course. (* Amount of refund will be 200,000 yen as of May 1, 2003.) The certain requirements should be met to receive benefits. Please feel free to contact our Student Affair Div. for details at 03-5411-3331 (representative).
Will TCJ offer recommendations and introductions for job hunting?
TCJ has a recruitment system, in terms of faculty, for those who completed the courses. We also actively engage in introduction and dispatch of instructors to the affiliated schools and sister schools at home and abroad. More than 3000 students, who completed the Japanese Instructor Training Course, have flourished all over the world as Japanese instructors. TCJ is the fosterer and sender of professional Japanese instructors with full confidence!
